Mode of Action

Paraquat is a quick touch-killing, non-selective herbicide.

It loses activity in earth without leaving toxicity in the soil.

Absorbed by the foliage, destroying green plant tissue on contact by translocation within the plant.

Crops

Fruit orchards (including citrus), plantation crops (bananas, coffee, cocoa palms

Coconut palms, oil palms, rubber, etc.), vines, olives, tea, alfalfa, onions, leeks, sugar beet

Asparagus, ornamental trees and shrubs, in forestry, etc.

Control

Broad-spectrum control of broad-leaved weeds and grasses. 

1. Also used for general weed control on non-crop land;

2. As a defoliant for cotton and hops;

3. For destruction of potato haulms;

4. As a desiccant for pineapples, sugar cane, soya beans, and sunflowers;

5. For strawberry runner control;

6. In pasture renovation;

7. And for control of aquatic weeds. 

4.  Usage

Dosage

e.g. Paraquat Herbicide 200g/L SL, control of weeds on cotton: 450~600/ha.

Specific dosage depends on different situation.

Application method

Directed spraying on stem and leaves

5.  First Aid Measures

General advice: Consult a physician.

If inhaled. If breathed in, move person into fresh air.

If not breathing, give artificial respiration

In case of skin contact, wash off with soap and plenty of water

In case of eye contact, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water for at least 15 min.

If swallowed, do NOT induce vomiting.

Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Rinse mouth with water.
